KST A to Z
Self-destructive lifestyle patterns
Brad Miller, DC

The patient is a 70-year-old woman was on diabetes and heart medication. She went off the meds after a few months care but did not change her lifestyle; she continued eating donuts, ice cream and cakes.
OD said her self-destructive lifestyle patterns (my term) stemmed from difficult unresolved experiences from her childhood.
I had asked her to make a movie of a difficult past incident which she rated a 10 of 10 in discomfort and we adjusted what came up. That quickly became a zero. On two subsequent visits, we did a different movie with similar results.
The next visit when I asked if she wanted to continue with the movies, she said no, she was done with it. She felt sorry for the past but didn't really feel like there was any more to get rid of.
That was about eight weeks ago, and her diet has improved about 90% since then (she bought an organic dark chocolate bar last week).
I was pretty stunned at the rapidity with which discharging the old emotional weight seemed to clear and the immediate effect on her treating herself better.
