KST A to Z

Antalgic - low back

John Foley, DC

New Jersey

A "hot low back" patient in the antalgic position always struck fear in my mind. In the past, I'd try a mix of techniques with slow improvement, sometimes afraid to touch them until they iced it for a day or two, often losing them to drugs.

A “hot low back” came into today. Using the OD I went to the cranials and cervicals, sphenoids, C5 post and panic pattern (common findings with this condition) then L5, sacrum, ischium and hips.

The patient left the office standing up straight and at least 90% pain free.
