KST A to Z

Arachnophobia (fear of spiders)

Kevin Ross, DC

Tempe, Arizona

Female adult patient with a life-long fear of spiders (arachnophobia).

We worked on her fear by having her think of different situations with spiders, for example, "there is a spider in the room over in the corner," "the spider is crawling toward you," "pick up your foot and step on the spider," etc. and adjusted her for anything that came up in the OD checks.

She came in on her next visit and said that at the office SHE is now the go-to person to kill spiders! Her life-long fear is gone! She is amazed and thrilled!

Comment on above in the KST forum:

Hey Kevin, I too have a patient with a spider phobia. She was in today and we did the "step on the spider" process. She thought that was a great idea and a useful addition to what we had already done. I also used a full-page picture of a wolf spider to help break the phobia. She went from having a panic attack at the sight of the picture to being able to handle the picture without any anxiety. KST is so cool for phobias.
