Autism – normal dinner

Just got a late-night text from the mother of a family I care for. She wanted to let me know that this is the first normal dinner night that she has had in six years. She has three children, ages 7 - 11, and her youngest is on the spectrum - autistic/OCD/ADHD.
There have been lots of exciting changes for this family, but this is the latest. No more special individualized meals, no more pleading/begging for him to eat, and no more homeopathic remedies needed before/after mealtime. Just a happy family, who enjoyed a peaceful meal and each other’s stories of the day.
