Sunday morning at the KST seminar I had a partner who said, "Dr G. you have a problem amongst your right lower teeth!" I replied I'd just had three new teeth with two implants and a bridge fitted to my right UPPER molar area. She said, "The OD definitely indicates a problem in the lower premolars!" I said, "Just carry on!" and forgot about it.
Sunday evening driving to the airport: pain in the right lower jaw. Booked a dentist. A maxillofacial surgeon found a major infection on X-ray. The infected tooth was removed, and an implant now provides firm chewing power on that side.
How did that young doctor know there was a major problem developing in my right mandible? Answer: The OD.
