KST A to Z
Grandmother
Tom Michael, DC
Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada
A 79-year-old grandmother was seeing another DC but felt too sore to continue. Her main complaints were soreness through the chest and neck, difficulty breathing, low back and hip pain, forward head posture (ears about 3 inches in front of her shoulders) and a very prominent hump.
I adjusted her, finishing with a rotated sternum. She took a deep breath for the first time in 35 years, was standing 50% straighter, ears now 1.5 inches from shoulders.
Next visit her posture held but vitality was missing. Emotions surfaced: her oldest son and youngest daughter both had cancer and weren't expected to live long. After 4 weeks of emotional work her hump reduced 65%, color returned to her face, pain almost gone, stride up 50%. Later her son died, her daughter was critical, her granddaughter also had cancer, but she said this was the best her body had felt in about 50 years and she was dealing with the sadness from strength instead of weakness.
