KST A to Z
Infants and cross-crawling

I saw two infants this week who were not crawling properly - neither would put full weight/pressure on their left knee and hip. The ten-month-old had never crawled properly, and the nine-month-old (my granddaughter) had been doing a perfect cross crawl but suddenly stopped.
I adjusted them and had the mom move legs like the child was crawling (the POS) - in both cases, a left atlas and left hip anterior subluxation showed. My granddaughter returned to a perfect cross crawl immediately, and the little boy immediately started putting weight on his left hip where he had only dragged his left leg before.
So many parents say their child skipped crawling and went straight to walking, but cross crawling is important for neurological development.
