KST A to Z

Lethargy, crying spells, sleeping, breathing problems

Ellen Wolk, DC

Walthan, MA

Yesterday I had an urgent call from a mom with an 11-year-old daughter, Becca, who has been lethargic, having crying spells, and not being able to sleep for the past month. For the last week she was not able to go to school. She also said her breathing felt 'weird' like her 'tummy was going in and out too fast.'

She also has to have a parent sleep with her. Becca told me all this began after an eye doctor appointment where she got 4 drops to dilate her pupils.

I checked her and found Rt. anterior sphenoid and temporal, C1, C2 and panic pattern. I had her do the 'weird' breathing while I checked her.

I just got off the phone with mom, who happily reported Becca slept all night in her own bed, had no crying spells, and returned to school today!
