KST A to Z
Muscle tension
Kristine Jelstrup, LMT
Cambridge, Massachusetts
After the first 2 treatments, she is sleeping through the night. On the third visit, the muscles are still tight but getting better. She said the pain started after an injury to her low back from lifting something too heavy. The low back healed over time, but the neck/shoulder pain persisted.
I asked OD if we needed to deal with the original injury in order to heal this present problem. OD said yes. I had her imagine picking up the 50-lb. bag that caused the problems. OD directed me to L1, L2, and L3 and ping! She says, "OMG, I just felt the tension like a wire going from my upper back through to my shoulder, release." I asked OD if there was any more work to be done, and it said no.
