BK had both of her knees replaced. The first surgery went extremely well with a very smooth and rapid recovery while the second surgery had two residual problems: the patella is restricted, and the Iliotibial band is chronically constricted. Visually, she has the traditional "zipper" like scar down the front of her knee.

I found a horizontal scar under her skin on the lateral part of her leg above the knee. It was not visible but on palpation it was quite apparent. Utilizing the scar technique, it immediately released and improves every week. The "zipper" down the front of her leg has changed how her patella moves.

Scars that are not apparent occur because once a surgeon gets underneath the skin, they can and do go anywhere with their instruments (think arthroscopy or laparoscopy).
