Sciatica and low back pain - emotional priorities in POS

John Leegaard, DC

Lake Mills, Iowa

A patient was responding marvelously well to KST for intense LBP and sciatica. However, we reached a point where our results seemed to go stale and he was still in a good deal of pain at times.

I went through the posture of the subluxation (POS) and spiritual and emotional issues but still wasn't getting farther. When I was reviewing in my mind any questions I had forgotten to ask, I realized that I hadn't checked for an emotional attachment while he was actually in a position of pain.

I checked for emotional priorities while he was laterally bent and twisted; I found sphenoid both bilateral anterior as well as bilateral superior. The moment I cleared both the sphenoids in that position, he broke into a clammy sweat and had to go to the restroom and vomit. Every other time he was in, I was only asking about emotional priorities with respect to his pain, but I had him physically in a neutral pain-free position.

His recovery after the sphenoid adjustment has been awesome.
