KST A to Z
Self-adjustment - knee

I have been an avid, advanced skier for 35 years and I have NEVER had an injury while skiing, but there's a first time for everything.
I was teaching my nine-year-old daughter how to control her speed. Without thinking, I leaned left to intercept her before she hit a large trail marker.
I felt the searing pain over, in, and throughout my left knee and particularly the fibula. As her momentum pulled me even farther to the left, the pain increased exponentially, and I dropped to the ground uncontrollably grasping the knee.
I sat in the snow for about 5 minutes and attempted to put weight on the leg - no go. I took off the left ski and skied to the lodge on one ski.
I drove to my clinic one mile from the ski mountain and began using KST on myself. In about 15 minutes, I was able to put my full weight on the left knee. The next day I had a little soreness upon awakening, and now by midday I am able to see 20 patients before lunch with no residual symptoms from the accident.
