About These Stories
These stories are from those "in the trenches" seeing patients day-to-day. Many were originally posted on the KST forum at www.korenspecifictechnique.com
KST's goal is to locate and release physical, chemical and emotional stress, blockages, trauma, subluxations and imbalances so the individual may function closer to his/her potential.
Some of these stories cannot be explained from our present understanding of human physiology. Science (natural philosophy) has its limitations. As Hamlet said to his skeptical friend:
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy. - Hamlet (1.5)
A powerful example is from Rachel Naomi Remen, MD's book Kitchen Table Wisdom. This true story was told to her by a doctor at her seminar:
His father had severe Alzheimer's. He would sit in a wheelchair, mute and unresponsive as the family took care of his needs. For over ten years, he was in this state. One day he and his brother heard a strange sound from his as he turned and fell to the floor. His sons ran over to help. They heard a voice they hadn't heard since they were children. "Tell your mother I love her. Tell her that I am all right." Then he died.
One of the sons became a cardiologist and, at a medical conference, said an autopsy revealed his father's brain "almost destroyed by this disease." He wrote,
For many years, I have asked myself, "Who spoke?" I am no closer to knowing this now than I was then, but carrying this question with me reminds me of something important, something I do not want to forget. Much of life can never be explained but only witnessed.

We are all witnesses to life's mysteries. When a KST practitioner reports a "miraculous" response, I think of this and other stories.
I'd like to thank all the wonderful witnesses who contributed to this collection.
