Building Confidence Before You Have Experience
The KST Edge | Week 17 Issue 17 |
![]() There’s a lie that gets whispered to every developing chiropractor, every new practitioner, and every doctor facing a case that stretches them. It sounds reasonable. It sounds wise. And it is absolutely crippling: “You just need more experience.” More experience. More patients. More time. Then you’ll feel confident. Then you’ll know what you’re doing. Then you’ll be ready. Here’s the problem with that story: it puts confidence on the other side of a finish line that keeps moving. You see 100 patients and you think, “Maybe after 500.” You see 500 and you think, “Maybe after 1,000.” There is always another number. There is always another milestone your Educated mind can point to and say, “Not yet.” We want to offer you a different framework. Because we’ve watched KST practitioners walk out of a three-day seminar and adjust with a quiet confidence that some doctors don’t develop in a decade. And it’s not because they’re naturally gifted. It’s because they understood something fundamental: Confidence doesn’t come from having all the answers. It comes from having a system that accesses answers you don’t have. Read that again. Because this is the edge. Your Educated mind builds confidence by accumulating knowledge. The more you know, the more confident you feel. That works, up to a point. But human knowledge is limited. You will never know enough to handle every patient, every presentation, every curveball the human body throws at you. And if your confidence depends on knowing enough, you will live in a permanent state of “not enough.” KST builds confidence differently. KST says: you don’t need to know what’s wrong. You need to know how to ask what’s wrong. And the body will tell you. Every time. Principle #22 says there is 100% of Innate Intelligence in every living thing. Not 100% in your experienced doctors and 60% in the nervous new practitioner’s patients. 100% across the board. The intelligence is always there. Your job is to access it. And the flow chart is your access tool. |
Think about what that means practically. A complicated patient walks in. History of trauma, chronic pain, multiple failed approaches elsewhere. Your Educated mind panics: “I don’t know enough about this.” But your KST system says: “I don’t need to know. I need to ask.” You pull out the flow chart. You challenge and check. You let Innate guide you to the priority. And you deliver a specific adjustment based on the body’s own intelligence, not your limited experience. That’s not fake confidence. That’s not “fake it till you make it.” That’s real, grounded confidence in a system that works regardless of how many patients you’ve seen. The flow chart doesn’t care if you graduated last week or thirty years ago. It works because Innate works. And Innate has been on the job since before your patient’s first heartbeat. Now, for the experienced doctors reading this: you know exactly what we’re talking about. You remember the early days. You remember the fear. And you know that the thing that eventually dissolved that fear wasn’t patient number 5,000. It was the moment you stopped relying on what you knew and started trusting what the body knows. KST accelerates that moment. It gives practitioners access to the same Innate Intelligence experienced doctors have been leaning on for decades. That’s not a shortcut. That’s good design. So if you’re sitting in a classroom, standing in clinic, starting out in practice, or simply facing a case that makes that voice whisper “you’re not ready”... let us whisper something louder: You don’t have to be ready. You have to be willing. Willing to ask. Willing to listen. Willing to trust a system that’s bigger than your Educated mind. That’s the only readiness that matters. This week’s challenge: Adjust someone this week with zero agenda. No preconceived idea of what’s wrong or what you’ll find. Walk in with only the flow chart and the question: “Body, what do you need?” Notice how different it feels to approach a patient without the pressure of needing to know everything. That feeling? That’s confidence. The real kind. Trust Innate. Find the Edge. Team KST ![]() |
